PERICO HUAYCCO

TRADITION PERICO HUAYCO

This tradition dates the 1554 year in colonial Huamanga; Perico Huaycco was called as the seat of the devil, the following tradition confirms the name.
Don Marcos Obando was an old lawyer who was in love with a beautiful young Teresa Silva of 18 Aprils; who did not correspond to his love.

Don Marcos was sad and went talking to a friend who recommended him to go to Perico Huaycco talking with the devil and ask the love of Teresita. Don Marcos went and said to Satan to give him the love of Teresita; the devil accept in exchange for the soul of Don Marcos, which should be delivered the following year.

When Don Marcos returned to his house Teresita  was waiting lavishing unconditional love, so  spent a year in which they were very happy and loved.
Don Marcos was wistfully said goodbye to Teresita; went to Perico Hyacco and didn’t return, anybody  to see the huamanguinos say the devil took him body and soul.
